News today of George Carlin's death and Bill Gates "retirement" from Microsoft later this week are a couple of monumental stories in my world. They are both people that I have idolized since childhood (yes, as a child, my parents felt I could handle listening to Carlin and I knew better than to repeat his comedy during childhood). George Carlin's death is saddening, but at the same time I am surprised he lived to the age of 71! I was fortunate to see him perform live in 2004.
I was, and still am, a bit of a computer geek, so I have always listened to and read interviews with Bill Gates. So, it seems the point of this posting is to say that I am starting to feel older.
Best regards,
Jay

I watched TV and know about George Carlin's death, but I did not hear about Bill Gates' retirement. I guess, not only you, but Bill Gates started to feel older, if that's what he plans.
Would be interesting to watch what he is up to. I do not believe he would just become a couch potato
I've been feeling older lately too. I don't like it either. I'd be willing to bet that Gates has something else up his sleeve.
I was a big George Carlin fan and often use "carlinisms" when I talk. He will be missed.
Hey Jon,
Thanks for your comment. I believe that Gates is turning his attention to philanthropy. But I guess if anyone has earned the right to be a couch potato, he'd be the one!
Best regards,
Jay
