One crazy person at a campaign rally is unavoidable. Many crazy people at a
campaign rally is unacceptable.
I have read blogs and written blogs about why people will/won't vote for Barack
Obama. If you think that extreme racism is not playing a role in the 2008 U.S.
Presidential Election think again. Watch the following video from a recent Sarah
Palin campaign rally in Ohio.
What are your thoughts?
Best regards,
Jay

Jay ~ This is what the Associated press daid about Obama in 2007...
(AP) Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama may have a lot of explaining to do.
He voted against requiring medical care for aborted fetuses who survive. He supported allowing retired police officers to carry concealed weapons, but opposed allowing people to use banned handguns to defend against intruders in their homes. And the list of sensitive topics goes on.
With only a slim, two-year record in the U.S. Senate, Obama doesn't have many controversial congressional votes which political opponents can frame into attack ads. But his eight years as an Illinois state senator are sprinkled with potentially explosive land mines, such as his abortion and gun control votes.
Jay, This is precisely the reason I am not buying the polls. These people , who probably don,t have much use for telemarketers and pollsters, will be out to vote in force. It is going to be a close election
Hugh, I agree. For Obama to squeak by with a win, the polls would have to show him winning by a landslide. If the polls show McCain within 10 points in key states, McCain will win.
Jay,
I despise racism and have no room for it in my life. I have plenty to dislike Obama about without caring about his race, the thing i am noticing though is that alot of people who normally don't even bother to vote are talking about politics this time around. I think voter turnout will be up and I think that hurts Obama. Like it or not more people tend to vote against a candidate than for one. Mostly they don't trust any of them.
My thoughts are that there are a LOT of ignorant and predjudiced people out there. Also there is a lot of hate and anger. For many people, Obama is the focus for all that. I am worried that one of these rabid supporters may give up on McCain winning and decide that the only way to stop Obama is to do it themselves, and will try to kill him. You have to give Obama some credit for guts, to put himself out there on the campaign knowing that someone may try.
AS far as winning goes- I think that the kind of people shown in the video are already showing up in the polls as voting for McCain. The polls show Obama's lead, both overall and in "swing" states widening. I actually think we're going to win this one.
Alot of conservatives I know (the religious right) are not exactly enthralled by McCain, they are not donating as much, they arestaying quiet and less likely to have signs or answers pollsters. But mention Obama and they all agree, many also like Sarah, they may be quiet but they will be out to vote..As far as the other issue I am praying for Him for many reasons.
Hugh ~ I am a conservative and I just sent in again my support for John McCain. I will send another before the end of the month and another a few days before the election. I put my money where my mouth is, and yes, McCain discloses where his money comes from.
We still don't know where Obama is getting all this unprecedented money from? Middle East, yes...proven.
Hi Jay. I just saw this video and cringed. This is a prime example of why education is so important. Its sad really. These people are regurgitating what they have heard others say and they can't even state a valid reason for why they dislike Obama......reminds me of someone on here. :)
Jay - The comments in this YouTube clip are some of the most troubling I've yet seen.
Sheer ignorance and stupidity!
I sincerely hope this is not reflective of all conservatives.
That senior citizen that called OBama a Nigger (a word FORBIDDEN in my home!)....prime example of old school mentality. Blacks say the same things about us "white" people and that generation is the worst. They just won't let it go and see people for who they are rather than their skin tone and hair texture.
I know you and I disagree politically and religiously but I mean it with all my heart and soul when I say I embrace people of all races. My middle name is Ramirez legally because I was married to a full blooded, Spanish speaking, Hispanic. That means our 3 kids are half Hispanic. My daughter has a boyfriend that is black. My son's best friend is black and most of his friends are black. I'm even part black although it's very little from one long lost ancestor but it shows in some of my relatives.
Not all people care about skin tones in this country. Those who do will die off and maybe then we can get beyond race and concentrate on personal merits.
I am seriously concerned that there will be assasination attempts on Obama. I don't want that. His children should be guarded 24/7 or their lives WILL be in danger.
There are some prejudiced radicals who will lose their minds....what little is left of them....if he becomes president.
All I can say is that it is sad how misguided some people are.
Jay, I will say this....I heard on the radio the other day a McCain rally that had the Obama people becoming pretty violent. This is not one sided.
Jay - Seems some people just can't get past their bigotry. Their ignorance is their beacon and their light should have been put out a long time ago.
WHAT IS TRUELY SAD IS THAT MOST ARE CHRISTIANS SAYING THESE THINGS AND BEHAVING THIS WAY. PURE IGNORANCE.
PEOPLE ARE BREAKING THE VERY HEART OF GOD IN THIS CAMPAIGN.
THIS IS CHRISTIANS BEHAVING POORLY.
Sarah Palin a role model? for what? hate, ignorance, stupidity. How sad, I'm embarrassed that these people are Americans.
Linda, You consistently insult Christians yet claim to be one. Aren't you tired of being full of hate? I'm sorry you went to a bad church but not all Christians are like the church you went to nor is this video an example of the average Christian. If you are a t rue Christian then you know that some claim to be Christians and don't know God and God doesn't know them. You are being a stumbling block and apparently don't even know it. If you don't like Christians (which is pretty obvious because yo uwrite it in every single comment) then why be one?
I'm Christian, and I'm votingfor Obama, also. In the video in the original post, one young man said Sarah Palin is "filled with the Holy Spirit". Now, I don't know what he is basing that on, but in my experience, the Holy Spirit CORRECTS me when I do something I shouldn't- like telling lies and half-truths, and exaggerations, and being mean-spirited, and violating ethics rules,...
Yes, there are horrible people in this world - on both sides.. so please, no holy-er than thou...
Outside on Broad Street, waiting for Palin to leave, one man was heard saying: "Let's stone her, old school."
Another protester shouted at someone entering the hotel, "Wait till your daughter wants an abortion, you hypocrite."
some obama supporters
and another
and just look through these
Uh Leslie,
Do you realize what you just said?
It reads like a confession of sorts. Ya might want to reword it a bit.
First - Like others I abhor some of the comments on the video. No question or argument about that.
However - I find it equally troubling that many of the Obama supporters have said they are voting for because he is African-American. Sorry, it might not come across quite as vulgar but it is equally racist.
So we have some TOTAL IDIOTS on both sides. Lets hope that those folks cancel each other out so that the folks who are actually voting on issues can pick a President.
There are many here on AR who I dont agree with. But at least I know that they are concerned and aware and making their own decisions.

Second point - Didn't anybody pick up the fact that this video was brought to us by Al Jazeera ! Sorry not much credibility when it comes from an an America hating arab news network.
Regardless of the messenger, these comments were not edited or translated - this is what people at a Palin rally believe and say - from the bottom of their deranged hearts.
What has happened in this country....we have taken many steps backward. McCain/Palin should be ashamed of themselves and anyone that would even consider going into the voting booth and voting for them really should really sit back and think about want they are doing right now...do you want two people with their characteristics running our county. I really don't know what happened to McCain..he has gone off the deep end allowing his campaign to be run this way.
Hi Jay. Thought you might get a kick out of this. A Republican friend of mine just sent me this.
